ECOSYSTEM
Positive growth.
What product will you be selling?
I want to sell thriller/horror books on my website.
What payment methods are available – how will your customers pay
I would like a wide range of pay methods. I don’t want to turn away customers due to not accepting payment types. I’d like paypal, venmo, credit cards, and afterpay. I will download various plugins to achieve payment acceptance.
How will you get your product to your customers – what are your options?
My products will be shipped or be available as an e-book. E-books will save my customers shipping and will be available to them quickly. Shipping books can be quite expensive. Ground shipping will be our main choice from UPS. The range of prices I’ve found is $10 for ground and $15 for priority mail. This will be reported to customers in my FAQ as well as the checkout screen. A hardcover book can weigh 2.5 pounds where a paperback can weigh 15oz.
What do you like in a website? what will you include in yours?
My site will consist of a main page, a sale page, and a FAQ page. Each book in the sale page will have a clickable image(hopefully) that will direct a customer to a page dedicated to the book image and a description of what the book is about.
What makes a good e-commerce web site?
A good website thinks about the needs of their users. Good e-commerce web sites have good navigation, good explanations, accessibility, readability, and uses SEO to appeal to users
What makes a bad web site?
Not user friendly. Doesn’t have good descriptions, prices listed, or bad navigation.
For your eCommerce website, what is/are the:
- goals of the site – the goal of the website will be to show books to those who like this genre. It will have good blurbs about the book to make the customer interested in reading them.
- target audience(s) for the site – Those who like thriller/horror books.
- Color schemes, fonts, page layouts, etc. With a horror/thriller genre, I will go with a darker scheme. I will pick the layout on Palleton to ensure the colors work well together.
- site navigation methods – Navigation menu and clickable links
- graphics (logos, buttons and photo requirements) – Photos will be available for all of the books. Id have to look into what it would take to create my own logo.
- other considerations? – Having a large array of different books is important. Id like to appeal to a wider audience as well as showcase books that I really enjoyed.
